Our
Story

As a graduate of Canton McKinley’s Vocational Law Enforcement program and a member of the Canton Police Youth Corps, Philip began his life of public service early.

Throughout the years, Philip continued his service, working as a Deputy Sheriff, Police Chief, EMS First Responder and Fire Fighter.  Philip also served in the military as a Military Police sergeant in the US Army and Army National Guard for nearly 20 years.  He continues to Serve in the Ohio Military Reserve where he is the 1SG for the HHC 4CSSB giving him almost 30 years of service to our Country and State.

Philip served as the Village Administrator for the Village of Centerburg, Ohio from 2007 - 2018 where he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the Village.  Additionally, Philip is an instructor for FEMA and the Ohio Emergency Management Agency (EMA) teaching classes in Logistics, Emergency Operations, Planning and Incident Command.  He is also a certified Fire Safety Inspector II and EMT-B with the state of Ohio.

Philip and his wife DeeAnne have 3 adult children and 3 grandchildren.  Philip and DeeAnne surrendered their lives to Christ and began attending Center Pointe Church in 2008.  In 2012, Philip heard God calling him to Chaplain Ministry with First Responders.  In 2013 Phil started in LEAD, a pastoral studies program supported by the Christian and Missionary Alliance.  After completing LEAD in 2015 Philip began serving as a Volunteer Chaplain with the Ohio Special Response Team (Search & Rescue), the Central Ohio Joint Fire District, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and as a Disaster Response Coordinator with the Christian and Missionary Alliance.

Luke 21 tells us that difficult times are ahead. Philip’s vision for the District Disaster Response Ministries is three-fold. First, we must have Sustainable Churches that are prepared for the future. Philip will be working with Churches in the District to help them prepare Emergency Plans and take steps to mitigate potential threats. The next step will be to help our members understand the importance of being prepared before a traumatic event occurs. We are NOT proposing that you become doomsday preppers, but that you have a plan to care for yourself and your immediate neighbors for 3-5 days, until help can arrive. Finally, we feel the Lord calling us to reach out to others affected by traumatic events, locally, regionally and globally. Philip will be working to form a team(s) throughout the district that are Trained and prepared to respond to these events and share Christ Love.

Please pray for our ministry, that God will continue to lead us to lost and to those who are willing to serve.
